Answers questions on your website and emails you the leads
ChatIFA is a chat window for UK financial adviser websites. It answers visitors using the pages you have already published, and it never gives financial advice. When someone wants to speak to you, it takes their details and emails them to you.
On your website
Hello, I can answer questions about Harrington Wealth. What would you like to know?
I'm 58 and thinking about drawing my pension. Do you help with that?
Yes, retirement income planning is one of our main services, including drawdown. Would you like an adviser to contact you?
Yes please. Margaret Ellis, margaret.ellis@example.com
Thanks Margaret, I've passed your details on. An adviser will be in touch soon.

It answers the questions people would otherwise email or ring about, and passes on the ones who want to talk. Here is one visitor, start to finish. How to set it up
- 1
You give it your web address
It finds your sitemap and reads your published pages. There is nothing to upload or write, and you can ask it to read the site again after you change it.
- 2
A visitor asks a question
In the chat window in the corner of your site, whenever it suits them, including evenings and weekends when your office is closed.
- 3
It answers from your pages
One or two sentences in British English, based on the parts of your site that best match the question. It can open the right page for them too. It never gives advice, and says so underneath every chat.
- 4
It offers to put them in touch
If they want to speak to someone, they can book a time with your booking link (Calendly or any other), carry on in WhatsApp, or leave their name and number. You choose which options appear.
- 5
You get an email
His details and a short summary of the chat, ready for the morning. Questions it couldn't answer come in a weekly email, so you know what to add to your site.
You stay in charge
It talks to your visitors, but it works for you. Everything it says is in your dashboard, and you can change how it answers at any time.
- Every conversation is kept
- Read any chat, export it, and see which leads are ready to talk. Each lead comes with a short briefing for the call.
- Anything that might read as advice is flagged
- As a second line of defence, each reply is checked after it is sent. If one could be read as personal advice, it is marked for you to look at.
- You correct it once
- Don't like an answer? Write the one you want and it uses yours next time. A weekly email lists the questions it couldn't answer.
- You decide what it says and where
- Its name, colours, greeting and tone, plus pop-up messages for particular pages, times of day, or visitors arriving from places like LinkedIn.
Questions advisers ask me
Pick one to see the answer. Prices are on the pricing page, and the compliance page covers data and advice rules in full.
No. It is told it is not a financial adviser and must never give advice. It only repeats what your website already says, and every chat window shows the line "AI assistant | not regulated financial advice". You can read every conversation in your dashboard.
Will it give financial advice?
No. It is told it is not a financial adviser and must never give advice. It only repeats what your website already says, and every chat window shows the line "AI assistant | not regulated financial advice". You can read every conversation in your dashboard.
Where does it get its answers?
From the pages on your website. When you sign up it finds your sitemap and reads your published pages. For each question it looks up the most relevant passages and answers from those. If you change your site, you can re-read it from the dashboard.
What do I need to add to my website?
One script tag, pasted into your site's header or custom code area. It works with WordPress, Squarespace, Wix, Webflow and hand-built sites.
Where is the data kept?
Your account, conversations and leads are stored on servers in Germany. To write each reply, the conversation is sent to Anthropic in the US, and your page content is indexed using OpenAI, also in the US. The sub-processors page lists every service and what it receives.
What happens when I run out of messages?
Only visitor messages count, not the replies. When the allowance is used up, the chat tells visitors to get in touch with you directly. Paid allowances reset every month, and you can change plan at any time.
Can I change how it looks and what it says?
Yes. You can set the colours, which side of the page it sits on, the greeting, and extra instructions it follows. If you add a booking link or a WhatsApp number, it can offer those too.

“I first built ChatIFA for one financial advice firm's website, then decided to make it available to others. It answers the routine questions from your own pages, stays out of advice, and passes on the people who want to talk.”
Tom, who built it. Questions? hello@chatifa.co.uk
